Personal:  Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Amber S. Billick has witnessed the urban growth of this area over her lifetime.  Although she appreciates the advantages that “big city” life can bring, she enjoys the close-knit community that has managed to survive here in Concord.

Education: Amber is member of the 2000 graduating class of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. Amber attended the Wake Forest University School of Law and graduated in 2005. While in law school, Amber excelled academically and maintained employment throughout her time at Wake Forest.

During law school, Amber quickly learned that she was both good at, and enjoyed, litigation. She competed for, and was named a member of Trial Bar during her second year of law school. Additionally, she honed her leadership skills by her involvement as an officer of the Domestic Violence Advocacy Center and as the Student Representative for the North Carolina Association of Women Attorney's.

Amber also has a deep seeded desire to help people in need and developed this calling during law school through her volunteer work with the Guardian Ad Litem program and the Domestic Violence Advocacy Center.

Professional: After completion of her undergraduate degrees, Amber worked for two years managing both her father's local billiards establishment and a security and home theater installation company. It was during this time that she got life lessons in both business management and customer service. She then worked for a summer as a litigation assistant at Hunton & Williams before beginning law school. Upon completion of law school, Amber took, and passed, both the North Carolina and Georgia Bar Exams. She then moved to Atlanta and practiced as an associate attorney at the Law offices of Stanley M. Lefco, where she increased her skills as a trial lawyer.

After two years in Atlanta, Amber was ready to return home and began practicing with the Law Office of Chris Karrenstein in 2007 where she became extremely knowledgeable in the area of Homeowners Association Law. Amber left that practice amicably to join Luke and Laura at The Baker Law Firm, P.A. in April 2010.

Memberships: Amber is member/licensee of the Georgia State Bar, North Carolina State Bar and Judicial District 19A Bar. She is also an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Advocates for Justice (formerly North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers), American Bar Association, and American Association for Justice (formerly American Trial Lawyers Association).

Community: Amber is an active citizen in the community. She participates in Habitat for Humanity events and volunteers with Special Olympics. Amber is a member of Davidson United Methodist Church.

Family: Amber is married to her wonderful husband Chad and has two daughters, Zoe and Haven. Additionally, her parents are still in the area as well as her four sisters, one brother and thirteen nieces and nephews. Family gatherings are quite an event as you can imagine! Amber enjoys travelling, reading, playing pool and pinochle.
